We’ve always subscribed to the old saying that nothing is worth doing unless you can measure it – especially when it comes to websites.
This is why every website we have built has included a statistics collecting service – Google Analytics, and you can access them at any time.
How to access Google Analytics for your website
Google Analytics is a free service that gathers all kinds of information about how your website is accessed, not least ho many people are viewing it.
Every website we have built (with the exception of one page sites built several years ago) includes this technology and this information has been recorded usually since the website went live.
To access your statistics you need an email account registered with Google – a free Gmail address is enough.
Once you have this, open a support ticket, selecting the Analytics access option, and we’ll do it for you.
Why do we all forget about statistics?
Statistics are important and even the basic headline information can tell you how you’re doing and help you make changes that can have a real impact on your business.
Even though we tell everybody about statistics in the early stage of a project, it kind of gets forgotten about in all the fuss of a website launch. Also, it takes time before statistics start to become valuable.
So now we want to encourage very you to take an interest in your website statistics. So please ask us for access and we’ll set it up for you.
The service is free, though if you have a one pager website there is an admim cost to set it up.
The downside to Google Analytics
The problem is Google Analytics is complicated.
The amount of information offered is so immense, never mind the ways you can manipulate it, that you need a tutorial to get around it.
But there are many videos o YouTube that can help you understand what you need to know.
