Sorrells Solicitors

Sorrells Solicitors

The project

Sorrells Solicitors came to us as yet another disatisfied customer of Yell/Hibu who needed a simple website that explained their services and brought them new clients.

After discussion with the partners we agreed on an approach of avoiding the usual problems seen on solicitors’ websites: Instead of a website that was distant from the user and full of legal jargon, we aimed for one that was short and to the point, even friendly!

We worked hard together to come up with content that explained benefits rather intimidating the visitor.

As usual the emphasis was on simple, clear navigation, simple language, on a WordPress website in responsive design for mobile devices.

The result was a website that brought in new clients where the previous site had failed.

In early 2016 Sorrells merged with another law firm and the site is currently a holding page.

Stainless Pipe Solutions

Stainless Pipe Solutions

The project

Stainless Pipe Solutions is a Mid-Wales based company specialising in complex metal installations in the food industry.

They already had a website, but sadly the developer had died and they were unable to change it at all.

We suggested a new website built in WordPress, with responsive design for mobile devices. Their original site was also lacking in structure and useful information, so we created new content.

Welder graphic used as a background image – and now on Stainless Pipe Solutions’ vans!

Working with the original images, we were able to create a visually striking homepage, which makes it clear what the company does.

To offset the dull steel effect of the website, we created a watermark welder image, which is now used on their vans.

We added an About page with a company history, and also the logos of major clients, to help build authority.

Red Stone Studio

Red Stone Studio

The project

Red Stone Studio (formerly known as Branding by G) is a graphic design studio run by Gina Cox-Roberts. Having recently rebranded herself, she needed a professional website that reflected that brand and demonstrated the quality of her portfolio.

What we did

From the brief, it was clear that Gina wanted a site that would highlight her portfolio first and foremost.

In terms of design, she wanted a clean and minimal look and feel, so we used a lot of white space and incorporated her red and black branding. Gina created unique graphics to bring the brand through the site, such as the red stones for the social media and newsletter signup buttons.

We also:

  • Added a testimonial page showing Gina’s many delighted clients
  • Embedded a video on the home page
  • Integrated an email newsletter function to automatically e-mail out blog posts to her subscribers

C L Haden Writes

C L Haden writes

The project

C L (or rather, Chelsea Louise) Haden is a content writer, blogger and social media specialist.  This was her first website because even though she’s been in business for five years, she had struggled to find the right web company.

What we did

Chelsea already had a good idea as to what she wanted her site to look like and told us of a website that she particularly liked which we used as a guide.

She had already had her branding done by Red Stone Studio therefore we took styling cues from this.  We used the colours from her logo and added them to the header, footer and the buttons of the site.

She wanted the blog to be the main feature on the site so we kept content on the home page to a minimum and did heavy styling and customization on the blog page.

We also:

  • Integrated an email newsletter function to automatically e-mail out blog posts to her subscribers
  • Integrated a Twitter feed as she’s most active on here
  • Added a blog feed on the footer

The site is no longer live.

PWL Transport Refrigeration

PWL Transport Refrigeration

The project

PWL Transport Refrigeration Ltd is based in Oswestry and repairs, services and installs transport refrigeration and air conditioning units into vehicles, mainly transporting food in cold storage, across the Midlands, North Wales and North West.

What we did

Despite having traded for more than six years, this was their first website, and the aim was to give the company a more polished appearance so as to appeal to bigger clients.

Most of their work traditionally came through word of mouth recommendations, but as they have begun to expand and work with bigger companies, they are increasingly expected to have a website to engender trust and credibility.

We took this into consideration when building this mobile responsive website and we used the logos of the companies that they work with, some of which will be very familiar to those in the industry, who are after all their target audience.

We did the photography of the company vans you see throughout the site, and focused on presenting a site that is clean and easy to use to increase PWL’s professional profile in the industry.

Teasdale & Co Accountants

Teasdale and Co Accountants

The project

Teasdale & Co Chartered Certified Accountants is a Whitchurch accountancy firm serving all sizes of business, from sole traders to corporations in Cheshire, Shropshire and North East Wales.

In 2014 we were asked to build a new version of their website, which was about five years old and designed for small screen sizes, meaning it looked lost on today’s bigger monitors.

Also it was quite cluttered and the small type and unnecessary text made it very difficult to read. This, along with the use of generic images, gave the impression that the company was not approachable.

This was our third accountancy website and once again we were keen to avoid the usual clichés of calculators and pens found on accountancy websites everywhere!

What we did

Teasdale old site home page

We started with the content of the site, completely re-writing all the text and bring it away from the ‘corporate’ look.

We wanted to make sure that when potential customer views the new site, they will find when they need to know more quickly, and be motivated to contact the company.

The new website is built in mobile responsive design, making it easy to use across all devices, and we used modern typography and lots of white space to make it easier to read.

We also took photos of the staff in their office for the personal touch that was needed and used their colours for the design.

In common with all our sites, we added a contact form and ‘click to call’ phone numbers for mobile users.

Teasdale Accountants moved to another provider in 2018 and we have no conection with their current website.

Llynclys Hall Farm Shop

Llynclys Hall Farm Shop

The project

Llynclys Hall Farm opened its Farm Shop in 1995, selling their own and other locally-sourced produce to customers in Shropshire and Wales.

Owners Richard and Lynda Jones are so well known for the pumpkins they grow that Llynclys Hall Farm is known locally as The Pumpkin Farm.

What we did

They had never previously had a website and asked us to create an online shop to sell their goods for local delivery or pick up either at the farm or their stall at Oswestry Market.

As ever we made sure the shop was as simple as possible to use, with an easy to use interface and payment by Sage Pay.

Customers don’t have to register to buy from the shop, but if they choose to create an account then they are able to re-order with a single click.

We used a mobile responsive WordPress theme, with WooCommerce shopping cart software enabling easy, distraction-free shopping.

After three years the owners decided to scale down and remove the shop element, continuing as an ordinary website. This we were able to do at minimal cost to the client, by adapting the existing web shop and deleting data.

Steve Udakis – Remedial Massage and Soft Tissue Therapist

Steve Udakis

The project

Steve Udakis provides remedial massage and sports massage in Shrewsbury and Shropshire.

Steve came to us via a recommendation prior to searching around for the right web company. This was his first site, and he had no logo so we collaborated with Red Stone Studio.

We designed a WordPress mobile responsive site with social media integration, added simple content and personal pictures (rather than stock images) to give an authentic feel.

The key part to this site was the testimonial page, as we understand that in Steve’s industry, good feedback is essential and helps his clients to see that he comes highly recommended!

We will continue to develop this site, and maintain its search engine presence.

Clear Accounting Solutions

Clear Accounting Solutions

The project

Clear Accounting Solutions provides a range of accounting services to small businesses within the Shropshire area. Owner Linda West has been in the accounting industry for many years but found herself wanting to go it alone and set up her own business.

What we did

It was our job to create a site for Linda that would set her apart from the rest.

The typical design of most accounting websites means that they appear corporate, impersonal and not at all user friendly.

We worked with Branding By G to create a logo concept that avoided the corporate look and was instead colourful and simple. This then provided us with styling cues for the rest of website itself.

Our aim for this mobile responsive WordPress website was to make it easy to use, readable and to communicate a personal feel.

We did this by using a modern typeface, colourful images and a picture of Linda herself, rather than the usual accountancy website staples of calculators and pens!

Other features included integration of a Facebook ‘Like’ box – appropriate as she is an active Facebook user.

We also included a mailing list that offers subscribers a guide to 12 bookkeeping tips, and is sent out automatically in a branded email to anyone who enters their email address into the site.

Lynskeys CSC

Lynskeys CSC

The project

Lynskeys Care Service Consultancy, based in Telford, is a training provider and consultant for the health and social care sector.

It’s owned by Teresa Lynskey, who after working in the care sector for 15 years decided to set up her own business.

Teresa came to us via a recommendation by our accountant. We envisioned a website that would be clean, simple and straight to the point.

For this WordPress mobile responsive site, we added a testimonial and feedback page – both very important elements purely because this kind of industry relies on positive reviews.

After five years, the site was taken in-house by the client.
